In this article we will try to introduce you to the static dolls. Some of us call them Cartoon Dolls, others reffer to them as Avatars. Avatars came from The Palace (Mudd like chat where people are able to create images that will represent them)

There are many different dolls on the net, but almost all of them we can now categorize. There are three main categories.

Preps	Minis	Silents

The easiest and probably the best way to create the doll is to use the Dollmaker or Drag and Drop sript. There are hundreds of those on the net. You can find one on many sites in our Doll Links list or you can use The Doll Palace Dollmaker to save your time and efforts.

When you use general Dollmaker, you have to snapshot the doll you make (This process is not required when you use The Doll Palace Dollmaker ). Snapshot is a very simple operation. You can use combination <ALT>+<Print Screen> (Press and hold <ALT> button on your keyboard and press <Print Screen> button on your keyboard while holding <ALT> key) to do a snapshot of your current window. You can also use just a <Print Screen> button to do a snapshot of the entire screen. After you did a snapshot image is placed in Windows Clipboard.

Now you can import this image to any graphic editor you have or like and work on it. You can view our example of import in article about Paint. Also we would recommend to look for some tricks of designing the dolls in Photoshop
