Simple pleasures are easily the best kind. Sure a cruise is exciting and outrageously fun, but itís a big, complicated pleasure. You have to arrange passports and pack for a week including formal dinners. That can be fun, but when youíre down because you failed a math test or youíre struggling with some family stuff, you canít hop on a plane or a boat or show up to hang with your favorite band. You need a simple pleasure now to help you feel better.

Little Sweet Treats

Sweets are nice treats to have on hand, but you have to be careful not to have too many of these particular yummy things. Itís amazing how a pint of ice cream and a good girly movie can cheer you right up. Or maybe a spoonful of cookie dough while you sit and chat with your mom about whatís got you down. Even just grabbing a popsicle from the fridge on your way to your room to listen to music can be enough to feel a bit decadent and spoiled. After all, arranging some cookies on a pretty plate has to make you feel better Ė itís simply delightful!

Salty Delights

Sweets arenít the only delights. Just as many girls like salty treats as like the sweet variety. What it is about a big bag of microwave popcorn to brighten up an afternoon. Pour it in a bowl, crash on your floor with a good book and youíre set for hours. Or grab a bag of chips to share with your friends while you discuss just how horrible your ex-boyfriend really is. It must be that the salt brings out the best in us Ė just like in our yummy, savory snack.

A Long Walk

Read a page of personals Ė everyone likes to take walks. It has been shown that itís actually easier to talk to someone on a walk since youíre not face to face. You donít even need to go for a walk with someone, itís actually more relaxing to go for a walk by yourself and let your mind wander. When you let your mind wander and try to clear away the troubles, your brain has an excellent way of resolving things for you. Sometimes youíll think of the best solutions and find yourself most relaxed, when youíre not thinking of anything at all.

Work Up a Sweat

If a leisurely walk isnít enough for you, a brisk run can push all of your personal drama aside in place of pure sweat. Work up some serious burn and the endorphins you release will be enough to counteract just about any negativity you might be harboring. A good run is great for your waistline after the sweet and savory treats, too.

Get Pampered

If you canít afford to go the salon down the street for a full mani-pedi, why not do one yourself? Turn on the music and grab some polish. You can give yourself a full manicure easily enough and pretty nails make you feel pretty. If you want the full experience for way less than a regular salon, you might look for a cosmetology school in your area. The girls who are training to become cosmetologists have to practice for a certain number of hours and this means you get almost professional level services for $5 or $10.

What are your favorite simple pleasures?

Omg, duh. And when I'm sick or depressed, dolling. xD That's one thing I hear constantly in my Club. Whenever any of the girls are sick it's always "Omg, I feel awful...but I get to doll all day!"

Always brightens our day, lol.

My favorite simple pleasures are wine or a martini and a nice long and hot bubble bath. Always relaxing, always gets my mind off things, always my go-to.

And when I'm feeling down, nothing cures it faster than getting some of those Nestle' double chocolate chip cookies...YUM...but don't forget the TALL glass of milk to go with them!

I'm not the work out type of gal. It takes a lot of effort for me to lose and keep off weight purely because I hate exercise. I can diet for ages, I can eat proportionately, healthy, and deprive myself goodies endlessly, just so long as you don't make me work out, lol.
